Whalesounds
Can’t say exactly when that moment was where we lost our innocence, lost our youth.
But I can say that it’s been a steady decline since we lost the fire in our throats, we lost the fight in our guts.
Don’t tell me that it’s all a part of growing up, losing touch and falling apart.
I’ve been fed that bullshit since I was child to prepare me for a world calloused and cold, hoping one day I would “break the mold”.
And graduate close to home from a local state school. Get a teaching gig up north and make a difference in a child’s life, maybe save my own.
Now I sit here with baited breath, waiting on a second guess.
Down here we’re all living to the best of our abilities.
But these full time jobs are making us dependent on caffeine, beer, and quoting movies.
Reality is eating us alive, no matter how hard we try.
We are searching for meaning, a sense of pride, a sense of accomplishment. We all long to be free.
We are searching for meaning, a sense of pride, a sense of accomplishment. We all long to be free.
At the end of the day, we all want to say that we’re truly free.
This album is really 2013 but in a good way. It encapsulates the feeling of being a teenager in the early 2010s or even just being in your late teens altogether Ambrose

came for "high in the morning," stayed for "useless friends," became obsessed with "stay asleep." this band can do no wrong. "i never thought love would be the losing side" sucks as a lyric when you're trying to be a lyricists, cuz it's just not fair. Adam Peterson
